The Rail Replacement Service in Wimbledon and Morden
This weekend there was no Northern Line service running from Morden to Kennington while they test their brand new signaling equipment out. I must say a few weeks ago on Sunday morning after the works on saturday I was on the first Northern Line train out at 6:59am and we had to do a stop safety procedure while in the tunnel between Oval and Kennington. This involves the train stopping at a red signal and waiting for 3 minutes for it to turn green. If the signal doesn't turn green within the 3 minutes then the driver has to depart and cross the red signal at danger. When he crosses the red signal the train does an emergency stop and then departs at 5 mph maximum until the next other signal on the line. Well I say next I cannot remember exactly. Anyway this weekend I saw loads of Dennis Tridents en route. I even saw 9742 YN51KUX which is pictured below I thought she was still in Liverpool for the Meseyrail rail replacement there. Abellio and Go Ahead London did the service together. I have a mix of buses here.
